This little OM was made especially for a fingerstyle player friend of mine. The combination of soft red cedar for the top & Honduran mahogany back & sides give this guitar a beautifully warm & mellow voice. The OM’s tight waist make for a fabulous balance of clear highs & mids, while the full bodied curves of the lower bouts allow the bass notes to ring out. The ebony fingerboard & bridge allow for great sustain, silky smooth feel and a truly elegant look. |
A grateful dead bear head made of mother-of-pearl adorns the headstock of this particular instrument while the trademark wave logo & rosette are shaped out of green abalone. |

Born from the idea of combining the best qualities of the classic guitars from rock & roll history, the Pilot boasts the playability of an extra-contoured Tele-style, semi hollow body made of swamp ash & figured maple. The string-through-body design promotes greater sustain. The bolt-on maple neck is shaped to the specifications of an early ‘70’s Stratocaster neck. A Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickup in the neck position gives the Pilot the warm, Hendrix rhythm tones while the Classic ’57 in the bridge position allow for the beefy, screaming leads of the classic Gibson Les Pauls.
