Services To get a Price List for pricing on repair work, you can call us at 347.534.6054. Fret Dress (Level, Crown & Polish) - We level and dress frets the old fashioned way, slowly and with care. We do not use the curved fret files you see so often, but each fret is brought to a thin even crown using traditional fine single cut triangle files. This approach helps to insure a consistent crown, which translates to a consistent  clean, even, clear sound. Of course, we finish every fret dress with our own setup which is included in the cost. Refrets - We can refret your guitar with the wire of your choice ranging from thin, low profile to super jumbo. We will listen and work with you to fully understand your concerns pertaining to your fingerboard.  We provide hammer-in, press-in and glue-in refrets, as needs and desire dictate. Professional Setups - "Our Specialty"      Our approach to Setups is to look at the guitar as a whole & address all its issues.  We do NOT just change strings and polish. Frets & Board - All frets are block dressed as needed, then sanded and polished to a new condition. The fingerboard is brushed with steel wool and treated with an all natural conditioning oil that helps the fingerboard to resist drying and cracking. Nuts - String height is checked at the nut & the nut is adjusted to provide for the correct angle and string height. Slots are widened to prevent pinching and binding. Strings - We offer high quality D'Addario, Ernie Ball, GHS, and Fender original bullets, or you can provide your own favorite set of strings. Bridges & Saddles - On acoustics, all saddles are compensated where possible, and sanded to provide for a proper fit in its bridge slot. All pin holes are adjusted to provide for a proper fit as well as ramped so string tension is focused on the saddle for maximum transfer of energy to the guitar top.  For electrics, we match the radius of the saddle to the finger  radius of the fingerboard. This helps to create a feeling of balance and ease of play. Also, we intonate each string using state of the art precision strobe tuning. Necks Adjusted - All necks with adjustable truss rods are brought to proper relief. Our goal is to provide the lowest possible string height without buzz. (We will ask you your playing style so that the overall string height allows you to play "buzz free".) Wiring - A good wiring job is neat and clean as well as functional.  Unlike other repair shops, we promise to use only top quality pots and switches when needed and only replace components when it is absolutely necessary or desired by you. Switch Craft switches and direct replacement Fender and Gibson pots are used when requested.  At Tessitura Guitar Works we clean up every wiring job, routing and binding wires together in a clear path to their components.  You won't find any bird's nests after we're done. We can also provide Seymour Duncan, Dimarzio, Fishman or Dean Markley pickups. We can also provide direct replacement pickups and parts for most major brands of instruments as well as order direct from any other pickup company you may want.
